It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Eric Christopher Padmore, better known as Chris on 21st July, 2024.

Chris is greatly missed by his wife, Frances, children, Joanna and Tim, son-in-law, Ian, grandchildren, Sam and Jack, as well as his brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. He had many long-standing friends and neighbours who will miss him too.

Chris had many loves: spending time with family and friends; travel; History, reading and the arts; nature and the outdoors. He was a man who enjoyed good food, drink and conversation and was a popular figure around Stillington. He loved a joke and had a good sense of fun.

Chris was a good listener and a thoughtful man. He showed great courage, stoicism and good humour in enduring the pain of rheumatoid arthritis for almost forty years.

Please join the family in celebrating Chris’ life on Monday 12th August. All are welcome to the service at St Nicholas Church, Stillington at 2pm followed by a continued celebration at the White Bear Inn.

If anyone is unable to attend in person, it will be possible to attend virtually online. Please contact J G Fielder and Son to receive the web link.

Donations in lieu, if desired, to be split between Easingwold District Community Care Association (EDCCA), Mountain Rescue, England and Wales and RSPB.

Thinking of all the happy times we've spent together - as youngsters, with all our own youngsters and, latterly, as aging National Trust visitors, particularly Clumber Park. Also remembering the many New Year's Eves spent in each other's homes.

Great Memories.
