I got to know Tim through rugby and he was always fair and a lovely bloke to chat with. Going to Pocklington rugby club and not seeing him there for our usual debrief over a pint will never be the same.

It is with great sadness we announce the loss of a well-loved character across Yorkshire, Tim Clappison, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday 17th July aged 73. In hospital, surrounded by family after a short illness, his love and courage were as strong as ever until the very end.
Irreplaceable partner to Yvonne, much loved and dedicated father to Dan, Poppy and Rosie and treasured grandad to Harry, Daisy, Jack, Polly, Martha, Heidi, Archie, Lola and Rory. Son to the late Tom and Mavis Clappison.
Tim (also known as ‘Clappy’ to many) was a truly unique person, thoughtful by nature, he led a hugely fulfilled life thanks to his family and friends - who shared his passions for farming, rugby, music, great food and, of course, la belle France. In his final days, Tim spoke so fondly of all his friends and the gratitude he holds for the incredible memories he made with each of them.
Please join the family in celebrating Tim’s life on Friday 16th August. All are welcome to the service in All Saints Church, Pocklington at 2pm which will be followed by a family burial at St Peter’s Church, Harswell. Please join us afterwards for drinks, food and music at Pocklington RUFC, where we will raise a glass in true Clappy style. His only request… nothing ostentatious or too fancy.
Close family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to be split between RFU Injured Players Foundation and St Peter’s Church, Harswell.
