In loving memory of Christopher John Matthews, beloved husband to Valerie and devoted father to Vaughan, Ross and Gemma who sadly passed away on 4th July 2024.
Chris had a life long love of all things aeronautical, a passion that was ignited as a young boy in London during the war. Chris completed his national service in the RAF, working on the maintenance of aircraft. He was principally based at RAF Habbaniyah in Iraq. We’ve chosen the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance charity for donations as reflection of his interest.
In accordance with Chris’s wishes we are not having a funeral service, but we will be holding a memorial event for family and friends to get together and celebrate his life. This will be held from 12 noon on Tuesday 20 August at Hartley Country Club. Please contact the family for more details.
