In Loving memory of an incredible Dad and Grandad taken from us far too soon

On the 3rd August 2023, we were given the devastating news that our Dad had prostate cancer that, unfortunately, could not be cured. We knew from this day onwards the journey ahead would not be easy, however our amazing Dad remained positive throughout and fought right until the very end.

On the 3rd July 2024, our wonderful Dad lost his battle and was taken from us leaving 7 children, 4 grandchildren and a mountain of friends. We were all truly heartbroken.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 144 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

We have set up this page to raise awareness for this disease with the hope it can help save more lives and avoid families going through the same pain we have.

We would be grateful for any donations to our chosen charity, Prostate Cancer UK, to be made via this site and thank you as a family for all your support.

If you wish to send flowers, these may be sent to John Weir Funeral Directors 130 -132 High Street, Rainham, Kent, ME8 8AR no later than 09.30 am on day, Thursday 1st August .

We would also love you to share any photos you may have of Dad on this page or with us personally.

Dad was a true legend and one that will never be forgotten.

My dear and lovely friend of almost 65 years who fought his battle with great courage and humour. Thank you for the great times from our meeting 1958, holidays together with the other friends of the 41st Scout group in a very dodgy Camden Town of the time for introducing me to The Walker Brothers and Beach Boys back in those fun filled days of the late 60's and the girls we had such good times with. Rest in Peace my gentle friend.
