Iris Dorothy Warden (18 Nov 1929 - 1 Dec 2015)

In loving memory of Iris Dorothy Warden who sadly passed away on 1st December 2015. Iris was born on the 18th of November 1929 in Sneinton nottingham,William Henry Stanley and his wife? The youngest of two sisters Lily being her elder sibling. Unfortunately Iris lost her mum when she was 3 years old but remembers a China doll that her mum bought her with great fondness.Her father married again but Iris and her stepmother didn't get along, and recalls her smashing her doll on purpose. Iris spent a lot of her time at the next door neighbours house of Mr and Mrs Hill later to be called Aunt Alice and Uncle Will by her children.Iris started her working life as a cotton winder in Nottingham before meeting a young man from Keyworth called Dennis John Brian Warden, she moved to live in Keyworth on Selby lane. On Christmas Eve 1951 they were married and there first home was on Bunny Lane where she lived for over 60 years. They had 3 children Anne, Paul and Susan.
