Richard John Coombes QGM
25 September 1951 - 6 July 2024.

In loving memory of Richard who sadly passed away on 6th July 2024, aged 72.

He was an extremely brave man who suffered life changing injuries as a Metropolitan Police Officer during the Broadwater Farm Riots in 1985.

For many he was a role model, a mentor, a federation rep and a friend.

Helping others around him was part of the fabric of his being & he touched so many peoples’ lives, both during his career and afterwards.

He was very much loved & will be deeply missed by his wife Pauline, his children Louise & Matt together with their families and all of their friends.

The word hero is used very casually these days, but Richard was a hero in the true sense of the word.
