David Talley (Dave) was born in Lincoln on the 24th of October 1945. The son of John & Joan. He was the younger brother to his sister Pat & brother Les.

Sadly his mother, Joan passed away when Dave was only 4 years of age. Dave grew up in Margate, Kent during the hardship of the post-war 1950s but shared many happy memories of this “simpler time” with us.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Dave joined the Royal Air Force in 1961, as a boy entrant at just 15 years of age. After his initial training, Dave was posted to RAF Wattisham, Suffolk. Here he met his future wife, Dot, in November 1963. Dave married Dot in 1965 and during this time he served overseas in Bahrain, Madagascar, Zambia & the Netherlands.

Dave & Dot had their 1st son Nicholas (Nick) in 1966 followed by Ryan in 1967.

Dave left the RAF in 1975 and moved back to Suffolk to begin life in “civvy street”. He went on to have various clerical jobs and his family moved to their current home in Needham Market, Suffolk in 1979.

Dave became a proud grandfather in 1996 when Joshua (Josh) was born. Imogen, Hannah & Isaac followed and Dave loved being a special grandad to all of them.

Dave & Dot celebrated their golden anniversary in 2015 with family & friends. Tragically, Dave suffered several strokes during his retirement and was cared for by his loving wife Dot in his last years.

Dave was friendly, caring, witty and generous with his time. We will all miss him terribly but will hold on to the memories and funny stories of the past. x
