I had the pleasure of meeting Glynn for the first time last year at green man festival. We had an instant connection and shared love for punk bands. We bumped in to each other at a Spanish love songs gig in Nottingham by chance and had a proper good dance and sing along. I was saddened to hear of his death when I was at green man this year. It's become quite apparent to me how much of a positive impact he has made for water aid and in the festival community. My condolences lie with the family.

In loving memory of Glynn Richard Trow who sadly passed away on 24th June 2024, aged 57 doing what he loved most, volunteering at Glastonbury with WaterAid.
A much-loved son of Liz and Alan, brother to Debbie and Hayley, he was forever a Shropshire lad at heart, born and raised in Shrewsbury, he always viewed Bayston Hill as home. Having passed his 11+, he was educated at the Priory School for boys and went on to pass a number of O and A levels with flying colours. He was also a prominent member in his school band playing bass guitar, which had many names over the years, including Amorous Adventure. Whilst working on a local part time archaeological dig, he eventually made the difficult decision to sell his bass guitar to buy a suit for a job interview at BT. He was thankfully successful and so this was the start of a 30-year adventure making friends for life and taking him on adventures around the world. During that time, he also met his long-term partner of 29 years, Sonja and he moved to form a new life in Tamworth with the love of his life.
In 2018 he was afforded the opportunity to take a break from full time work and a new passion was ignited volunteering for the charity WaterAid giving talks to school children around the Midlands, and boy could that lad talk!!!
He also had the chance to do some acting work as an extra on a number of Sky promotional videos and a Netflix production, however that longed for film role never came along and he always said he had a face for radio.
A part time role working at the National Trust Back2Back houses in Birmingham brought a new interest to his life and greeting visitors from around the world at this unique attraction provided him with many a story to tell after work!!
His passion for music never faded and he would often play his bass guitar with friends, along with gigging with family and friends whenever the opportunity presented itself. Having attended the Glastonbury festival in 2016, he truly fell in love with those fields and felt most at home there. Having been unsuccessful getting tickets as a punter over the last few years, he was happy to attend as a volunteer supporting and promoting the important work being undertaken by WaterAid around the world.
However, whenever and wherever you met him, he was never without a grin on his face, providing a warm welcome or hug, he always went out of his way to help, support and guide anyone and made friends instantly. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him, however the memories of nights out, drinking, dancing, playing cards and singing will happily stay long in the memory for all those that he meant something to.
