In loving memory of Robert 'Bob' Burr who sadly passed away on 25th June 2024, aged 75 years.

The struggles had in the past 4 years does not define who our Dad was, but it did show the world that a determined man lived among us who never gave up the fight to anything that was thrown at him. Even though it was one diagnosis after another but he never gave up. He didn't know how to give up as it just wasn't in his nature. He defied medical science with just sheer determination and fight as his only weapon!!

Dad will always been known to have a story to tell but also advice to the people he loved weather they wanted to hear it or not but it came from the heart and a whole lot life of experience.
His rebellion started in his younger years and always pushed the boundaries. His rebellion is something that we hold so dear in our hearts, the cheeky Chappy Cockney with that spark of mischievousness in his eyes.

Dad became known everywhere he went. An unforgettable character who will always be remembered and Loved a bit of banter!!

Dad loved his role as Father Christmas for the past 2 years raising money for a children's charity. He absolutely embraced it. Even had his own Father Christmas driving licence.

Dad was an East End Cockney Boy through and through. This never left him, right until the very end. He was proud to be a Londoner who loved his jellied eels and good old fashioned pie, mash and Liquor. His drink of choice was always a double JD and coke or Dark Rum.

An absolute avid fan and supporter of Arsenal.....The Gunners!! He was absolutely loyal to the very last breath and wanted it included at the very end!!

He is OUR STRENTH
He is OUR DETERMINATION
He is OUR MOTIVATION
He is OUR FATHER

Now Rest Papa, your fight is over and its a fight we will never ever forget.

HE IS OUR HERO!

I was lucky enough to meet bob when he moved to jamie cann, the minute we met we instantly got on, I’ve not come across many tenants that have got my humour.. but bob did and matched it lol, was always a laugh to do his care and chat about whatever came up in conversations but as much as we were there to look after him he’d always be up for a heart to heart on the days he could see we weren’t 100% ourselves, always making sure on a hot day we had 5 mins infront of his fan and given a bottle of water and got given what felt like a serious talk from your grandad about the importance of staying hydrated, getting “his girls” cool little gadgets like pill poppers to “make our jobs just that little bit easier” he used to say, but I do also think he loved an Amazon delivery just a bit too lol.. he had a heart of gold and his absence is definitely felt and I say that for all staff at JCH!
We also met and got to know all of his lovely family and seeing the way he loved and spoke about all of them was really something beautiful, but I do feel he took all staff at JCH in as family too! Always admired his strength through everything and how he never gave up no matter how hard it got.

So sad when you lose a tenant, but I do feel very grateful to have been part of his life in some way and some of the advice he gave me will always stick.. including keeping your bin bag roll in the bottom of the bin so you can put another one straight in when you empty it (I did find that life hack quite impressive from a man which he found hilarious when I told him that..) he’ll be forever missed by all his girls at jamie cann house, rest easy bob, love chels

Bob was a strong man who prioritised family above everything.

He welcomed me into his family with open arms. From gifting me a "Best Teacher" mug when I wanted to go into teaching to sharing countless work stories, details about London, and family anecdotes, his love for his family were always evident.

He was so deeply loved. Grief is what happens when love has nowhere to go. But he is still watching over us, cheering for a Gunners championship win. 🏆
