Dennis was a true gentleman. Always pleasant and reliable and with a ready smile. They say the good die young. Never was this more true in the case of Dennis. RIP. My condolences to his wife, Hazel and the wider family.

I was shocked to learn of Dennis’s death, he was such a lovely man and a great skipper. I wish I could be at the funeral but I am stranded in the West Midlands without transport. I will be watching it via the link when I get it and thinking of those he loved who are now desperately missing him.

A long time and lovely friend of my parents and all of us. He is missed so much by all. Lots of memories over the years but of recent days I remember him having a little chat with my young son Jax about the zoo and talking to him about the animals he might see when we go. A kind, gentle and lovely man. Greatly missed. Love to Hazel, the girls and all the family. Love Jenny,Kris and Jax. xxx

We have many happy memories of when we used to live next door to Dennis & Hazel. Our girls still talk and laugh about when Dennis threw snowballs over the fence at them on a snow we had a few years ago! Always there for advice and to lend a hand if we ever needed it. A kind, fun loving man to whom family meant everything- he always spoke of how proud he was of them all. So sad that he’s no longer here but he’s left wonderful memories.

Dennis was such a kind, funny, energetic and lovely man. Here he is playing chase with our children at Greenwich on a day out. They loved visiting Hazel and Dennis and still talk about these happy times. So sad - will always remember him fondly x

Always calm and a professional voice of reason. Hard to comprehend this very sad news, having had the privilege of knowing Dennis 52 years.
