In loving memory of David John ‘Dave’ Gundry who sadly passed away on 12th June 2024 aged 75 years following a brief but incredibly brave battle with terminal cancer. Dave was a loving Husband, Dad, Step-Dad, Brother, Granddad and Cousin and his loss will be sorely felt by all his family and friends.

Dave retired from his post as Headteacher of Chatham Grammar School for Girls in 2010 after a long career in teaching during which he influenced the lives of many young people and made numerous friends amongst colleagues. He was immensely proud of his career and we are all proud of him and his many achievements.

Rest In Peace.

Donations in lieu of flowers in Dave's memory would be gratefully received for the 'Royal National Lifeboat Institution' or 'Cancer Research UK' and may be made online via the links on this page.

Dave's funeral will be held on 16th July 2024 at 11am and the family will be gathering after the service for light refreshments and a celebration of his life at Gillingham Golf Club, Woodlands Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 2AP from 12.00 and would be pleased if you could join them for both the service and/or the celebration.

I'm sorry to hear of Mr Gundry's passing. I hope my small contribution helps as much as his presence helped me at CGSG

Although I can’t be present I will be thinking of David and his family tomorrow and beyond as I remember his smiling face when he was deputy and then head at CGSG. Gone but certainly never forgotten. He touched so many peoples lives.
