In loving memory of Jacqueline Chaddock who sadly passed away on 5th June 2024.
Jacqui (Colhoun) was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 21st February 1959. Shortly after, the family moved to Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, England.
Jacqui attended Manchester High School for Girls, then went on to gain a degree in Art/Design at North Staffordshire Polytechnic (specialising in pottery). Following this, Jacqui obtained a teaching qualification in Art at Bristol University. Jacqui taught at various secondary schools during which time she settled in Redhill, Surrey, and married Mark Chaddock in 1983 and had three children, Jonathan (1988), Marcus (1989) and Matthew (1991).
Jacqui then taught across the spectrum of education from Adult Ed (pottery) to managing St Joseph's Preschool play group, then on to Primary school (reception) before deciding to focus on helping children with special needs. She then studied at the Helen Arkell Centre qualifying as a specialist teacher in Special Needs (Dyslexia and Dyscalculia). She worked as a private tutor as well as in secondary schools. Throughout this time she was devoted to her family and generously contributed to her local community through her voluntary work and roles in the local Catholic Church, as well as professional Charity organisations (South East Surrey Dyslexia Association). She went on to become Head of Learning Support (SENCo) at St. John's School Leatherhead, until her struggle with her illness in 2023.
Jacqui was also a keen gardener and loved spending time tending her garden which, she said, gave her a profound sense and appreciation of the cycle of life and how we are all a part of a greater whole. She also loved being by the sea, especially feeling the exhilarating power of the raging waves and wind in her hair, exploring rock pools and collecting interesting shells and stones, which further served as inspirations for her life long interest - art, whether it be in visiting exhibitions or exploring and developing new techniques in her own artwork.
Family was always at the centre of her life and we were blessed with the dedication she constantly showed in enriching our happy home whether it be organising holidays and art days, or instilling a love of other family activities from board games to escape rooms.
Jacqui lost her battle against bowel cancer on 5th June 2024. She was surrounded with love, with her husband Mark and her three sons beside her at St Catherine's Hospice.
Jacqui will forever be remembered with love and affection by family, life-long friends and all who were touched by her generosity, selflessness and love throughout her life.

Dress Code
There is no formal dress code; Jacqui wanted people to have the freedom to wear what they wanted. Though the day will remember Jacqui’s passing with great sadness, she did not want it to be too sombre an occasion but a celebration of life and a joyous thanksgiving of her own.
