Ed was a lovely guy. I got to know him at the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust Bridgeton bus garage where I am a volunteer like Ed was. In recent times for me, I was often it Ed's company in the Archives in Bridgeton sharing duties there and helping visitors. One memory I have and will share of Ed is on the Sunday of last year's Open Weekend at Bridgeton, we were both in the Archives when an ex bus driver at Knightswood Garage came in and explained to Ed and I that he was the last name to be on the trophy for Knightswood's Snooker League before that garage closed. Ed knew far better than I as to what might have been kept and where in the Archives. It took Ed only a couple of minutes searching to find said trophy! The gentleman and his wife were delighted that Ed found the trophy. That small thing sums up Ed to me a a very helpful and genuine person. He will be sadly missed.
