I had the privilege of knowing you through my friendship with your son Michael. Such a kind, warm and welcoming person. Always made me feel at home when visiting.

I'm so sorry for all your family for such a loss but I take comfort in my belief that no one is truly gone as you will always exist through your influence on your sons and husband and they will continue to remember you evert day.

Love x

A message to Mum:

A nurse working at Nottingham City Hospital, where you sadly passed away, said to me “your mum was blessed”. This was because the nurse had witnessed many people in pain and suffering. She said that in your situation, mum, you were fortunate to pass quickly, and to not endure any pain.

Before you passed away, thankfully, you had the opportunity of saying goodbye to dad in your special way. You died close by to dad and both of your sons. Before visiting dad that day, you were also fortunate enough to have spoken to family and friends over the phone, wishing each other love and support. You were surrounded by love. I can’t help but feel, in spirit, mum, you have stayed with dad throughout his recovery, and I know you will continue to watch over all of us long into the future. I will try to remember what you said, “nothing is impossible, there are no problems, only solutions”.

Mum, you leave behind family and friends you love, but I know you are now with loved ones on the other side, and that to me, is a heart-warming thought, that we will all meet again someday. Thinking back to what the nurse said to me, I can’t help but feel she was right, but not only regarding your passing. You lived how you wanted to, you achieved so much, and had a full and happy life. You gave birth to love and watched it grow. Mum, you were indeed, truly “blessed”.

Love,
Michael
