I've never actually met John, but I have his son Rob, who is an amazing person, and I'm sure a reflection of his dad.

Our love, prayers and thoughts are with you all. We hold John in great affection, as a very wonderful neighbour from Lowdham days and a continuing friend during all the time since then. He was a fine policeman and a very honourable man - an example to be followed. Nottinghamshire owes hime much. And of all that made him, was not the Chocolate Tree the most vivid picture of his humanity?

Uncle John, you were the kindest man I knew. Thank you for creating so many happy memories.

Remembering Roger and John having motor bikes and having amazing times! Also our wedding when John was Roger's best man such a happy day and in later years ( after both retiring) long walks and pub lunches. Lovely memories.

John remembered with much respect and affection. A truly honourable man and great work colleague.
