It was my great privilege to serve with Liz as an elected member of the English National Board for Nursing , Midwifery and Health Visiting from 1988-1993. I remember her during that time as a person with integrity, intelligence and a passion for Children's Nursing. She was a consummate
chairperson of the Investigations Committee. She skilfully steered the group through many complex and emotionally painful decisions to decide
whether there was a case to answer when nurses were charged with breaking their Code of Conduct.
Most of all I have a memory of such a warm, compassionate woman with such a strong commitment to developing the profession of nursing. It is with great sadness and regret that I have heard of her passing. May I convey my deepest sympathy to her family

Liz's journeys throughout her life and professional career were significantly impactful, most suited to a well respected and accomplished individual born and passed on International Nurses Day and Florence Nightingale's birthday RIP

I believe it was my good fortune and enormous privilege to work with Liz in Nottingham. She was a brilliant leader and an inspirational and stimulating mentor. I admired her enormously and was so grateful that she encouraged us all and supported us in following our own ideas and initiatives. I will never forget her passion for placing the child at the heart of all we did and did my very best to enact that belief in every day of my practice. Her influence stayed with me throughout my nursing career. She was such a delightful blend of the committed professional; focused academic; but with a fun loving, vibrant and cheerful personality - my goodness she will be missed.

Liz was always so vigorous, enthusiastic, and passionate about everything she did - it is a tragedy that she is gone too soon. Children’s nursing will be very much the poorer without her ongoing innovation, focus on improvement, empathy and compassion, and her determination to never lose sight of the child and their family at the heart of all we do. I will miss her hugely.
