In loving memory of Simon Poynton who sadly passed away on 25th May 2024.
Simon was a devoted father, husband, brother and friend. He was a proud firefighter and served his local community alongside his crew.
Simon was born and raised in Langwith before moving to Shirebrook where he lived with his wife, Emma, and three children, Chelsea, Libby and Sonny, whom he adored. He worked as a painter and decorater with his late father, Derek, for many years. Simon had a passion for football and coached and managed teams for Pride of Shirebrook and Shirebrook Rangers.
Losing Simon has been difficult for all those who loved and knew him. He will be missed by so many and leaves an irreplaceable void in many lives.
Simon’s funeral will be held at Mansfield Crematorium on Friday 21st June at 12:15pm. Refreshments will be available afterwards at the Carter Lane Working Men’s Club in Shirebrook where there will be a celebration of Simon’s life.
