We have set up this page in loving memory of our Mum, Wife, Nan and a very good friend to many, our Barbara.

Barbara Kettle-Williams sadly passed away suddenly on Monday 3rd June 2024.

Barbara was a loving wife and life partner to Ken and an amazing generous Mum & Nan to her children Emma & Colin and 7 grandchildren Lauren, Georgia, Holly, Jacob, Rose, Joe & Bella. Mark & Sue couldn’t have asked for a better Mother in law too.

Barbara was born in Malvern and daughter to Ernest (Lon) and Mary. She was raised in Plumstead and Downham and also spent her holidays in Dover and Norfolk when she was young.

Barbara met her loving husband Ken when she was 20 years old at a mutual friend’s wedding, they married in 1967 and were married for 56 years.

We are so saddened by the loss of our dear Mum and we can not put into words how much we will all miss her.

Details of the funeral are on this page which will be on Tuesday 2nd July at 2pm. The funeral will be held in the North Chapel. In remembrance of Barbara’s life and love, the family ask that any charitable donations be made to the British Heart Foundation.

After the funeral, all are welcome back to 5 Farmcote Road, London, SE12 0HZ for tea and cake.

Please feel free to write your messages, memories and condolences, we would love to read them.

Best wishes,
Barbara’s family

I'm Bernadettes niece and I remember all the parties and events that were held at 30 Farmcote and elsewhere that I and my children attended. Barber and Ken were always present and it was lovely. My son Liam thought they were relatives as he literally grew up with them around him. Barber was a beautiful lady who I and her had many great laughs over the years. She was so happy, effervescent, and always smiling. It was a shock to hear of her passing and I know we will miss seeing her, she was part of a duo that you never feel should be separated.
So sorry for you all at this very sad time, God Bless, Alexis, Liam and Colette. Xx

Mark first met Barbara as a work colleague and, fortunately, this developed into a lovely friendship. We will remember Barbara (or as Mark called her, B) as a kind, caring, loyal and fun-loving friend. We have many happy memories of times spent with Barbara & Ken, particularly a summer concert at Rochester Castle gardens many years ago. Mark will miss his long telephone chats with B.
We are so sorry that we are not able to attend her funeral to say farewell to our lovely friend in person.
Thinking of Ken, Emma, Colin & their families at this sad time and sending you all our sincere condolences.
Mark & Janet xx

Graham and Pauline Goodchild donated in memory of Barbara

We offer Ken, Emma, Colin and family our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences on losing Barbara.
We have known Ken and Barbara since the 1960s and shared so many good times over the years: rowing boat trips on the River Thames, picnics in London parks, evenings in historic pubs - including Wapping’s Prospect of Whitby – and New Year celebrations that lasted till dawn. Barbara was a great support to Graham as a legal tutor in his early days at the Bar and was Pauline’s mentor at work in her first job at the Council of Legal Education.
Our world will never be the same without Barbara’s cheerful presence. We will miss her so very much.
We regret that we are unable to attend the funeral, but you will all be in our thoughts on the day.
Graham and Pauline.
