Roy was like a father to me, my best friend of more than 40 years. Having been ill for a few years after suffering a major stroke, this should’ve been easier than it is.
I first met him when I was three years old. He had the most amazing memory and was always full of detailed, embarrassing stories from that time. Although he and my mum separated after a short while, and he wasn’t around much afterward, for some unknown reason, from afar, he continued to act like a father toward me for the rest of his life. I don’t know why he did that. My biological father has never been there for me, yet this beautiful man decided he would be. It’s one of life’s mysteries, I guess.
I’ll never be able to repay him for the love he showed me, and I’ll never forget him. Rest in peace Royston Leonard Killick ♥️
