In loving memory of a dear friend who was a matchmaker to so many epicureans, without whom I would never have met Ron. Rest in peace, you so deserve it. Patricia and Ron.

In loving memory of Patricia Symes who sadly passed away on 29th May 2024.
Patricia Ann Molloy was born in Goole on Saturday 11th April 1942. She was the first child of Edward and Gladys Molloy and became a sister with the arrival of Janet on Sunday 10th July 1949.
Pat grew up and was educated at Goole Grammar School after which she headed off to London to continue her education at Goldsmiths College in New Cross. She graduated and became a primary school teacher.
She met Brian Logan, marrying in 1965 and was living in Biggin Hill when she welcomed her first daughter Justine on Saturday 19th April 1969. She was blessed with a second daughter Lisbeth (Beth) on Thursday 9th December 1971.
Pat had many ups and downs in her life but her strength and resilience carried her through all of them. Her determination to succeed in life on her own merits was an inspiration to both her daughters. I think our whole family would agree that her crowning glory was her transition into Granny Pat, the most wonderful grandmother to her 5 beloved grandchildren – Marcus, Bobbie, Rhianna, James and Lucas. All of them will forever carry incredibly special memories of the time spent with her growing up at her home in Wateringbury, playing in the stream, pinching sweets from the kitchen whilst she was entertaining, daring each other to go into the 'scary room' and all the fabulous days out they had together.
Apart from her grandchildren and her precious great-grandson Logan, Pat had many passions. She loved to travel, she loved to entertain, she loved food and of course board games. She was fiercely competitive even with the grandchildren and wouldn’t let them win simply because they were ‘kids’. Many a tear was shed as she trounced them at Mexican Trains.
Pat was the heart of our family and as much as she leaves a massive hole in our lives, she will do so in the lives of everyone who was close to her. There is some comfort in that she joins her Beth, her mum & dad and Ted.
Have a few negronis for me mum at that reunion – Beth will be there to catch you this time. Until we meet again, your Justine x
