In loving memory of Tony Potter who sadly died on 28th May 2024.

Tony was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on 2nd May, with a prognosis of 6 months to a year. But it progressed more rapidly than anyone expected and Tony died at home on 28th May.

Tony always felt people looked best in blue, so if possible please wear something blue to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers you are welcome to make a donation to the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team using the link on this page. Tony loved the mountains, particularly the Cairngorms, where we took the first of many holidays to Scotland.

All are welcome to join us at 29 Beresford Gardens, Hadleigh, SS7 2SB, after the funeral service to raise a glass or a teacup to Tony and celebrate his life.

A kind and gentle man taken too early from the people who loved him. My love and thoughts are with Sally, Robert, Karen and family during this tough time. xx

Cant believe Tony has been taken so early for such a fit and adventure loving guy. His love and passion for hiking and skiing were infectious and there was nothing he didn't know about the outdoors. He will be sorely missed.

I can't believe that Tony has gone. Such a fit guy, and always had a word of encouragement for anyone when we were skiing. His bottomless rucksack had everthing from chocolate bars, to a complete change of gear. I will miss you in January. My thoughts are with you, Sally Robert & Karen.xx

Such a loss. I will miss Tony giving me skiing tips and forcing me to up my game. But most of all I will miss him checking I’m ok whilst he carries my drinks and extra clothing. Very glad to know that Sally, Rob and Karen have so much support from her family and friends. I know Tony will have done everything he could to prepare you. X

I still find it hard to comprehend that I will never be able to speak to Tony again, although we did not see that much of each other in the last few years, he was one of my best and true friend, always willing to help others (especially with advice)
He was a diamond, I will miss him forever, and my heart goes out to Sally, Karen and Robert.
