Steve Jackson
3 July 1958 - 27 May 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Jackson on 27 May 2024, at the age of 65. Steve was a loving and devoted husband, father, proud grandfather, and cherished sibling.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Jan, his sons Tim and Andrew, grandson Ted. He also leaves behind his siblings Christine, David, and Jenny and countless friends.

Steve was a man of many passions and interests. He was a keen aviator, an enthusiastic biker, and an avid sailor. His adventurous spirit and love for the skies, water and the road defined much of his life. He loved his cats Jaffa and Rou.

Steve had a positive attitude towards life, often seen with a smile and ready with a joke. His ruthless sense of humour could brighten anyone's day, and his passion for his hobbies was infectious. Despite his tough exterior, Steve had a soft, caring core and was always there to offer support and encouragement to family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at York Crematorium on 21 June 2024 at 12:20 PM. A wake will follow at The Marcia Inn Bishopthorpe.

In honour of Steve's relaxed personality, please don't feel the need to wear a suit. Please could we ask that you click on the 'Attend Funeral' button to help us gauge the number of people we will need to cater for.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, an organisation close to Steve's heart.

Steve's legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I only got to meet and know Steve through his work with Driverhire and had the pleasure of going out to see clients with him. In this short time he spoke very fondly of his wife Jan, his children and grand child and his stories of his life were very interesting. Never a dull moment with Steve. So sorry for your loss.

Such a tragic loss. We have been devastated at this news. We knew Steve through our local business ARC Workwear. He used our services for his workwear but Steve was more than just a customer, a friend too, he was so genuine and very friendly, to a point that we friended each other on fb to share our stories. He always had time to chat and ask us how business was, have a laugh and share our updates on how life was treating us all. He would stop to chat in Sherburn and wave when he passed us on his cycle, car or motorbike. Anthony and I were so sad to hear the news. Why is always the good ones? When we heard the fb report of a traffic casuality I said "What motorbike does Steve drive? - the reality after reading Jan's tribute 2 days later was gutting. He has been taken far too early but we are privileged and blessed to have known him. He will be missed but never forgotten. xx

A cold, wet, fabulous day out with my big brother. It’s going to be less exciting without you.
