Dear Pauline, we shared lots of happy times over the years, holidays, Italian lessons at night school, working in pubs, long conversations on the phone even though we would be seeing one another later, shopping expeditions down East Lane on Saturdays, always followed by a Brown Derby in the Wimpy! We had lots of fun and I'm very grateful to have had you as my friend. Rest in peace. Love Maureen x

Pauline was my Godmother. Not long after I started work, I remember fondly regularly chatting with her whilst we were waiting for the bus in Tooley Street outside London Bridge Station and in later years after mass at the Most Holy Trinity Church, Dockhead on a Saturday evening.
