In loving memory of Alex Mercer who sadly passed away on 14th May 2024. Alex was born in Chorley the eldest son of Alexander Mercer and Jean Mercer nee Robinson. Alex had three other siblings, the oldest being Janet, brother David who sadly passed away in 2015, also his little sister Susan. He was raised in lower Adlington (a proper bottom ender he used to say). Alex attended the National school on Park Rd, then onto St Pauls and finally St Albans. His first job after finishing school at the age of fifteen was working on building sites, a stint at WST, but Alex was a free spirit who loved to be outdoors. The travelling fair came to town and off Alex went with it aged seventeen. There he stayed for over twenty years taking it all over the country, he always said they were the best years of his life. I knew Alex from being about seventeen, but we only got together at the age of forty. We have spent the last twenty eight years having the best life together, I will miss him always and forever. My Alex.
