Monica and Doug were wonderful godparents. I may not have seen Monica for a while but I loved keeping in touch with the little letters and cards. I have lovely memories and will treasure them.

I met Monica as a 8 or 9 year old when the Virr clan moved to Suffolk, some 50 years ago or so. Befriending her middle son, Nick, I was welcomed into the house where much time was spent playing table snooker, table tennis, lawn tennis and swimming. Monica was very good to me and particularly tolerant of Nick and my activities over the next 10 or so years - which were not always executed with the best level of behaviour and which I am sure tested her patience and tolerance! I remember her date and walnut cake, which was seemingly always on offer. Monica was a good person. I liked her a lot! It is sad to hear of Monica's passing and trust it was peaceful and painless. I and thinking of Monica and her family. I hope the funeral goes as well and these things can and is befitting of Monica. Best wishes. Nigel Ritchie-Lilley.

Dear Nick,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your mother. Although I never had the chance to meet her, I can only imagine the wonderful person she must have been to have raised someone as kind and dedicated as you.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

With deepest sympathy,
Junho

Condolences to all the family on Monica's passing, such a lovely lady I met via playing golf regularly with Doug at Stowmarket GC. Doug + Monica used to come to Chernobyl Children's Life Line - Mid Suffolk Link [of which I was a committee member] Bingo Evenings at Needham Market Community Centre. Coincidentally Monica + I were both brought up in Chadwell Heath, she in Reynolds Avenue + me latterly in Chadwell Heath Lane only so many yards away, though we never met then.
Can see Monica + Doug re-united together again now, no doubt having a good laugh!!
