William 'Jim' James Mays (20 Dec 1947 - 4 May 2024)

With immense sadness, Jim's family announces his passing on the 4th of May 2024.
He was a much-loved Dad, Nandad, Brother, family member and friend to many. A man with a generous spirit and a heart made of gold. One of life's good guys.

Diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2011 he has bravely fought this disease head-on many times and up until now has kept it at bay. However, just 8 weeks ago following a routine blood test was told he needed treatment for hypercalcemia. This is a complication of active Leukaemia and it was then that his battle began once more. Bravely Jim underwent extensive testing to see what stage the disease was at and despite everyone's hopes and prayers we as a family received the news that there was nothing more that could be done. Treatment was then withdrawn and it became Jim's final wish to be brought home. More than anything, he wanted to be in his own home with familiar surroundings. On the 3rd of May, he achieved this end goal. Peacefully Jim passed away at 3.55 am on the 4th of May just 8 hours after making it home.

He fought bravely for so long and now rests in eternal peace - a man who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew and loved him.
