In loving memory of Nigel Davies who sadly passed away at home in Buckland Avenue, Dover, on 19th April 2024 after a short illness, surrounded by family.
Dearly loved brother of Elaine, Nicola and Petra. Devoted Uncle to Danielle, Oliver, Nicholas, Bryony, Owen, Alice and George. Precious Great Uncle to Eliana, Maelie, Cleo and Phoebe. Cherished friend to so many.
Funeral to be held on Friday 7th June 2024 at Barham Crematorium at 4.00 pm followed by Evensong at St Mary in Castro, Dover Castle, at 6.00 pm.
Family flowers only thank you, with any donations in lieu of flowers to Cancer Research UK.

Nigel Davies: what a gent! Nigel was one of the very few people I've ever met, who could genuinely be called debonair. That rare mix of talent, skill, charm, wit and boundless ability to be rather good at everything he did but make it all seem so effortless. All this, whilst ensuring that those around him were looked after, entertained and the subject of Nigel's focus. A huge loss. Soave sia il vento Nigel et buon viaggio.

Hello Petra. I'm sorry that we didn't get the chance to speak yesterday. Quite naturally, you and your family had many hands to shake and there are only so many folk you can meet. As the Vicar said, Nigel's fingerprints were all over the Order of Service, which made what could have been just a sombre occasion that bit lighter and very much more personal. Sadly, a prior engagement meant that I couldn't attend the church service but I'm sure that this also reflected Nigel's good taste and attention to detail and was as evocative as it was poignant. I was, by the way, very touched that the Vicar included my comment in his homily and did so rather more eloquently than ever I could have done. I feel so privileged and proud to have known Nigel and will think fondly of him for all my days. My best wishes to you and your family. RIP Nigel. Rory

Very sad to be missing the funeral but relieved that we got to visit him before his passing. Many happy memories of university, Dover and a particular mad trip in a Mini to the south of France with Roger Watersmith. Rest in peace dear friend.

I am very sad that I can’t attend Nigel’s funeral. Bob’s photos brought back so many happy memories of our time at university and skiing holidays. Nigel will always have a special place in my heart.

Nigel and I shared a university flat together in 1973 and then a house in Sandwich in 1974, and went on a couple of skiing trips around 1980. I have many happy memories of him in those years. A kind and generous soul who never had a cross word and went out of his way to help others. I shall miss him
