In loving memory of Sydney Charles Badcock who sadly passed away on 14th April 2024.

Charlie was born Sidney Charles Badcock on the 15th April 1929. He was born in Malta because his Dad was serving there in the Army at the time. He soon became known as Sydney with a y. At about the age of 14 or 15 he joined the Army Boys Service at Chepstow. He served in the Royal Engineers until about 1957 and was in the reserves until 1959. After his marriage in 1953 he became known as Charlie as he is today. The knowledge of vehicles acquired in the Royal Engineers enabled him to start a career with the Ford Motor Company. He studied at night school between the late 50's and early 60's to advance his career at Fords. Charlie moved to the newly opened Dunton Plant in 1967, staying there until his retirement in 1984. After 24 years in Hornchurch he moved to the bungalow in Dungannon Drive in 1982. He lost his wife of 61 years in 2014 and ended his life in the bungalow after 42 happy years. During his time at Dungannon Drive he became a very popular member of the local community. He will be missed by all who knew him.
