Elya, thank you for the good times! The hours laughing together & arguing over sport are memories I will hold closely to my heart. Rest peacefully, you will be missed!
My brother Elya, I miss you so much. You'll forever be in my heart. 🙏🏾

The passing of Elya took us by surprise. Elya was kind, loving, caring, observant and a calm person with a beautiful soul. When I would go to the house to help with Haboba (his grandmother) when his mum travelled to Africa, he would go to her room to check on her and encourage her to eat when she didn’t have an appetite. He was very caring and really loved his family, and protective over his younger sister Annet. May his soul rest in eternal peace (Aunty Amal). Elya was funny, kind and not just a cousin but he was like a protective older brother to me. He will be missed greatly. Praying that God would comfort the family during this time (Jackie).
One of many shifts we worked together
I wish this was a live photo because we were smiling and joking around. This was the last photo I took of my brother. He was funny, protective, kind and annoying. He was way more than an older brother to me but he was also my greatest and longest friend.
Another example of my brother hating the camera. This day I was going back to uni and we were laughing and chatting all day. When I left the house, I called him and he stayed on the phone with me until I got to my campus just because I was bored.
Whenever we both were not working, Elya and I would go on bike rides at night for hours around central london. I always used to joke that I was a tourist and he would humour me by taking me all around London and showing me all the landmarks. It was fun.
Elya hated taking pictures so I used to try and sneak pictures with him all the time. It never worked but it was funny when I could
