My darling Granny. You most certainly have left a legacy in this world. A legacy of love, for always taking time for people, for always seeing the positive side of things, for the act of gratitude, for your warmth and embrace, for your hospitality and welcome, and let's not forget, your roast dinners!!!! For me personally, I am so incredibly thankful that I got you as my Granny. I have so many memories! As a young child, I loved my sleepovers at your home. I remember singing 10 green bottles snuggled up with you in bed, I remember the kippers you faithfully made Grandad every Sunday morning, I remember the fresh loaf of white bread often waiting on your kitchen counter when I arrived, I remember shopping the Argos catalogue with you and going in to get my cabbage patch kid, I remember you whistling away happily and always smiling, I remember just knowing that when you saw me, your face lit up! As it did for every person you loved! Funny thing is, when our family moved to NZ, I have always felt so connected with you depsite the miles. You were magic at keeping in touch! Whether by mail, phone, text and then all the comments on my facebook posts! My husband Shaun and our children Ella, Sophie and Beau all knew you and loved you, and you never missed a birthday, Christmas, anniversary or Easter! You would ask after our dog Jax often too!! Even some of my friends in NZ thought you were amazing and they would also refer to you as 'Granny' when you came up in conversation. Thank you Granny for truly making this world better. I will love you forever and your legacy lives on through the lives of the many people you have touched. I love you so much, love Emily x x x
