In loving memory of Walter Kummer who sadly passed away on 23rd November 2015.
Wally loved the sea, he joined the sea cadets as a young lad and then volunteered for the Navy during the war where he worked on the Landing ships-tank.
After returning from the war he returned to Nottingham where he was born and startered working as a French Polisher where he met the lovely Betty. With his charm and good looks it was no wonder they fell in love and were the most beautiful couple you ever did see.
They married on 4th September 1948 and became loving parents, and then in time doting grandparents.
Wally was a caring and selfless man who looked after Betty during her illness and always made sure the house was spick and span ready for visitors.
As grandparents they were always on hand for babysitting duties and both always creating things for the grandchildren to wear or play with.
Saturday night was the night to dine out at their various favourite places.
Sadly Betty passed away in 2009, but with family by his side Wally still got to go out for those all important Saturday night meals.
Spending his time with family, creating models and ships in bottles, reading books and watching programmes about the animal kingdown were some of Wally's favourite ways to spend his time.
There was always a story to be told about the 'olden days' which would bring a smile to his face and brighten the room.
Sadly Wally left has left us to be reunited with Betty where they can be together again but we will always have love in our hearts and fond memories which will stay with us forever.
