In loving memory of Nosratollah 'Nosrat' Doodman who sadly passed away on 19th March 2024.
Born to parents Safdar and Monirsaadaat in Tehran on a bright summer’s day. He soon grew up to be a tall, athletic, handsome young man. After finishing his secondary education Nosratollah enrolled on the School of Civil Engineering to become a civil engineer.
For a few years he served in the Imperial Iranian Air Force in Esfahan where he met his future wife Mehry, by chance, on the famous Chehar Bagh street. It seemed it was love at first sight and there began a long courtship lasting 4 years before they tied the knot in a beautiful summer’s evening in Abadan on 24th June 1959. The reception party was held in a romantic moonlit garden.
After their union they became parents to three healthy and happy children in the space of 6 years, a daughter who they named Daynaz and two sons, Shahriar and Shahram.
During his career as a civil engineer he was involved in projects such as building new homes for victims of major earthquakes in Laar, Boein Zahra and Ferdous. As an employee of the ministry of Roadworks and Transport, he helped to build bridges and affordable housing for villagers across northern Iran.
After the Islamic revolution of 1979, Nosratollah emigrated to London with his family and continued to work for his own home decorating business before retiring in the early 2000s.
He was a devoted husband, caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an amazing family man to the very end.
