In loving memory of Jeremy John Bland who sadly passed away on 16th March 2024

Father of 4 children, and 12 Grandchildren whom he lovingly supported and was always there for, he will leave a huge hole in our hearts but will continue to walk beside us.

He joined the RAF as a Radio Assistant in 1957 until 1962 fitting Aircraft Radars on Hastings and Vulcans and at the end of his term his Commanding Officer said of him "He has extensive knowledge and is recommended for civilian employment where his knowledge can be used to a great advantage"

An avid railway enthusiast having worked for British Rail as an electronics engineer, and carried on his support where he could. He had, over the years, collected a large amount of books and memorabilia and even set up a link to view the station web cams.

During the Eighties he became more familiar with computer systems so put his electrical knowledge into building and repairing PC's.

He also spent an amount of time studying human nature and psychology, being an active member of a number of help groups and joined the Samaritans.

In latter years he has kept up with politics where he was a labour party secretary and active member, passionate about environmental issues and enjoyed his garden which was full of snowdrops each year for his Birthday.

His health had not been good for a number of years but he would still do anything he could to help others whether he knew them personally or not, even if it was just advice to help make life a little better. He stood on the side of justice and equality, he was always patient and stoic, and the love he gave will be everlasting.

I miss my Dad so much, I miss the good morning and goodnight messages, I miss sharing my day with him, I miss making him a cuppa and bread and butter pudding, I miss holidays as kids to the seaside, I miss his stories and the comfort he gave, I miss his sense of humour and his slippers by the chair. Nothing can replace the memories from those wonderful years 💖

A gentle man in every sense. He gave much and asked little. He will be sadly missed by those that knew him best and loved him most.
