In Loving Memory of Anmarie,

Anmarie, a beacon of light in our lives, passed away on March 11th, at the tender age of 15. Her departure leaves behind a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her. She fought a valiant battle against cancer for seven years, enduring its relentless grasp with steadfast courage and grace.

Throughout her arduous journey, Anmarie exemplified resilience and strength. Despite the pain and suffering she endured, she never allowed her spirit to dim. Her radiant smile remained a constant source of comfort and inspiration to those around her. Anmarie's ability to face adversity with unwavering positivity was a testament to her remarkable character and indomitable spirit.

Anmarie was a vibrant and ambitious young soul who poured herself into her studies and extracurricular activities. Her musical talent flourished as she passionately played the piano, and her sharp intellect shone through her adeptness at solving puzzles. In addition to her academic pursuits, Anmarie found joy and self-expression through dance, often losing herself in the rhythm and melodies of music as she gracefully moved to its beats. We could never dismiss her venturing into the realm of rap, as she fearlessly expressed her boundless creativity.

Drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of Harry Potter, Anmarie found joy and solace. With infectious enthusiasm, she eagerly awaited each cinematic release, immersing herself in the magical narrative. Her love for fantasy extended beyond the pages of J.K. Rowling's books, as she eagerly explored any story that ignited her imagination, even leading to Anmarie publishing her own short story, both printed and in brail to be inclusive to all.

At the age of 9 years, Anmarie was presented with a life-battling challenge when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite the daunting prognosis, she faced her illness with determination and resilience. Anmarie embarked on a journey fraught with surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, bravely confronting each obstacle that came her way. However, she unfortunately fell victim to the complications of these procedures, losing her vision shortly after.

Despite facing numerous adversities and grappling with a myriad of health complications, Anmarie's spirit remained unbroken. She soldiered on, refusing to succumb to despair or self-pity. Her steadfast courage and strength were a testament to her extraordinary character. Throughout her ordeal, Anmarie never complained, steadfastly shielding her loved ones from worry and anguish. Her indomitable fighting spirit, from beginning to end, was awe-inspiring.

Anmarie's determination to make her family proud was her driving force. She resumed her academic studies with fervour, despite the challenges she faced, she achieved exceptional grades in her 11+ exams, earning a place in West Cliff High School for Girls. Her passion for music persisted, as she continued her pursuit of piano, mastering multiple songs with dedication and grace. Anmarie's love for literature endured, and she immersed herself in the enchanting worlds of fantasy, listening to over 250 audiobooks in addition to the 100s of books Anmarie read prior to losing her sight.

Despite facing struggles, Anmaire remained steadfast in her faith. She seized every opportunity to attend Church, participating eagerly in services and seeking communion to receive Christ's blessings. Engaging fervently in Sunday school classes, she delved into Bible stories and eagerly took part in nativity and Easter plays and hymns. Her devotion extended to her special love for Orbana, always accepting the largest one from Abouna every week.

Through her remarkable resilience and tenacious perseverance, Anmarie proved that nothing was beyond her reach. She became a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her, demonstrating the power of the human spirit to overcome even the greatest of obstacles. She is a testament for how we should all face life's challenges and lays an everlasting foundation for the steps each and every one of us to take, never becoming defeated by the adversities and hurdles of life.

Though she may no longer walk among us, Anmarie's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who cherished her. May her memory be a blessing, and may we find solace in the light she brought into our lives.

Anmarie, you were too good for this earth, and though you are gone, your light will never fade.

Rest in peace, dear Anmarie, until we meet again.
