I too am Polish.I remember that P.Maria wrote to Tydzien Polski about her life & I read these articles with interest, as I too have had an interesting life, because of the war. It would be great, if her photos & articles ended up somewhere like Intytut Pamieci Narodowej, rather than the skip! May she rest in peace

My lovely aunt always seemed to be someone who starred in a glamorous film with the rings on her fingers, lovely attire and her beautiful face. She could contribute to any discussion and you’d never believe she had suffered through all the hardships she did during WWII. One of my favorite stories I have of her was when she visited New Mexico one summer and my friends and I took her to the Santa Fe Opera. Don Giovanni was the opera and a very handsome Polish tenor starred in the role. During intermission, as we stood on one of the balconies, my aunt heard Polish being spoken and gravitated over to the conversation. It turned out that it was the family of none other than the Polish Don Giovanni! My friends were very impressed.

I was 6 years old when I first met my aunt and I will always cherish the time I spent with her over the past 60 years. The family is all together once again.

Aunty Maria led a full life and was very sociable and energetic. We will remember her fondly. R.I.P x
