How we used to enjoy the Penorchard shows when we were youngsters. We would hack from Iverley compete in most of the classes and then hack home with the ponies covered in rosettes. Stan and Margaret always organised a great day and supported all the local riders. Margaret was a local equestrian celebrity and will be missed by everyone. Condolences to all but let’s celebrate her wonderful life

I only ever met Margaret a few times when Thomas and Frankie were having a "play date" but she always made us feel like we were old friends. The evidence of her strong personality, love and care for others is evident in the love strength and care in her daughter and granddaughters. Love to you all. Patrice, Dave, Thomas and Emily

Margaret put her heart & sole into making people happy, she put on so many well organised shows at Penorchard, if you could get round her courses clear then she said you’d get round anything, well she was right she hosted the West Midlands Qualifiers for pre Wembley a few years on the trot, she made dreams become reality. Thank you Margaret for all your hard work back in those 70’s/80’s x

Many many fond memories of the shows and Friday night lessons in the fields. Margaret taught me to be brave and that anything was possible (particularly jumping those enormous fences !!). I won the famous puissance one year on Heather Blue & remember Margaret's big smile when she handed me one of those beautiful rosettes I think we all made friends for life there too.

May you rest in peace Margaret and thank you for the wonderful times at the show ground, sending love to you all ❤️

Omg, I could write a book on the years spent at penorchard. When I bought my first horse ‘Alix’ Margie said “you’ve bought that ? A chestnut mare with 4 white socks are you completely mad” margie named my horse for me. I’ll never forget you you were old school and taught me so much. Eternally grateful and honoured to have known you. Forever in my heart and my memories

Thank you for the laughter, the heated debates. You were fearless in your responses but passionate in everything you did. We spent many good times in your beautiful garden and to this day the plants you gave me are still flourishing, even that camelia you gave me because you thought is was the most miserable plant you had ever met!
Of course not forgetting all our horsey chats and your wise words regarding horsemanship.
Sending lots love to Cathy, Kayla and Frankie.

I want to start by offering my sincere condolences to Cathy and all of Margaret’s family.
Margaret played a very special role in my childhood, through my teenage years and into adulthood. Her vast knowledge and wisdom along with Stan’s gave me the foundations to build a lifelong career with horses. For that alone I owe a huge debt of gratitude.
I remember well the thought and dedication that went into the preparation of the shows she used to put on, which were always well supported from both near and far. The tireless hours she used to spend making the most beautiful rosettes, hardly surprising so many people turned up to try and win one.
The fun times we all shared in Margaret’s company, the wealth of knowledge she was always happy to pass on to others means that she will live on in each and everyone of us, who were lucky enough to have known her.
Good night Margaret, sleep tight and thank you for everything ❤️

I had the most amazing childhood spending every weekend and school holiday at Penorchard farm with Margaret, Stan and Catherine - from 9 to 18. All of the knowledge they passed on to me was incredible and also the fantastic opportunities of riding their horses until I finally got my own. One of my favourite memories is of the musical ride we put on for the Halesowen &Hagley Young Farmers Clubs in the ‘70’s , Margaret worked so tirelessly, it was amazing. We also had so much fun getting ready for the Show’s - painting the fences, making the rosette’s such incredible memories. I will always remember Margaret, she was my hero xxx

Margaret was the most amazing woman!
I learnt so much from her. Not only horsemanship, but life skills and lessons.
I had the best childhood growing up with our pony on Penorchard farm.
We had so many adventures over the years with Margaret,Stan and Cath and the girls.
I have so many lovely memories, as well as lots of horsey memories, we went on lots of day trips: garden centres, feeding the monkeys at the safari park, dudley zoo, harness racing at the three counties as well as going to lots of shows. Margaret and My mom loved making fancy dress costumes, and they were rarely beaten!
I used to work in Margaret's garden on a Saturday morning when I was growing up, her plant knowledge was incredible. Her garden was always so beautiful ❤️ I loved helping in the garden.
After most adventures we would end up in Margaret's kitchen with a warm ribena or a ginger beer, where we would discuss the day, put the world to right and discuss future plans.
I loved Margaret's honesty and that she never minced her words, she had a big heart and a great sense of humour.
She was a big part of my childhood,as she was for many. She will live on in my heart and be sadly missed ❤️

Sending lots of love to Cathy, Kayla and Frankie xxx
