In loving memory of Paul Anthony Summers who sadly passed away on 24th February 2024.
Paul, or 'Beano' as he was known to many was a truly special man. He was a husband, father, uncle, musician, amateur photographer and historian, family archivist and so much more. He was born in Bulwell, a proper Nottingham lad and attended Whitemoor Junior School. He then went on to attend Peveril Secondary (bilateral) School.
It was in these early days that he found a love of rock and roll and blues music and a talent for playing the piano. Paul played in many bands over the years including the Tadpole Lane County Council Charity Band, Colin Staples Blues Band, Stone Pony, The Hound Dogs, Breadline, Shades of Blue and lastly, The Last Pedestrians. Alongside his music and other hobbies, Paul worked as a welder, youth worker, bin man, maintenance for a women's shelter and an area caretaker for Nottingham City Council. In retirement, Paul enjoyed playing even more music but also photography, family history research and short breaks away with his camera club and family.
Paul passed away after a very short illness and this has left his friends and family deeply shocked and saddened. However, if we knew Paul well at all, he would want us to now celebrate his rich and full life. Paul is survived by his wife and his two daughters. We will remember and miss him always.
