Cherished memories of my childhood are synonymous with fond memories of Spud. A quiet, kind gentleman who always wore a smile and teamed it with a holiday passion for burgundy socks, TCP and a cig to light the way in the dark. He was one of a kind, one of 'the gang' and will be missed.

Derek was a valuable member of the team at keighley college. Never happier than when he was unblocking sewers with fag in his mouth, and I am sure he will be missed by many. RIP Derek.

I worked with Derek at Keighley College and I really admired him. He was endlessly patient and never complained. I learnt some good DIY tips from him too !
