Diane was more than a Research supervisor. She was a mother in many ways always looking out for me and fighting in my corner. Honestly, the research journey feels much lonelier without you and the meetings won't be the same.

The thought of you not being physically present or walking past your office to realise I can't pop by anymore to get advice or insights hits deep. For close to a decade of knowing you, you were always optimistic and you did your best to instil the same in as many people were around you. Thanks for all you taught me and ways you were there for me, cheering me on, supporting me, and having my back.

I would say God bless you but you are already with him so rest on peacefully Diane.

Diane was a true inspiration when I studied with her at then Thames Polytechnic in Woolwich for our HNC, HND and then degree in Computer Science. She always helped encourage us and she was extremely generous with her support to ensure we made the grade on our own merits. Truly sorry to hear of her passing. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

My beautiful mum, my inspiration.
You saw the best in all of us.

I am so proud of what you've accomplished and in awe of your achievements. I will always know I have the coolest mum on the planet.

You will live forever in my fond memories of our many dive adventures - waiting patiently for each other to take the perfect photograph; sharing in the joy of seeing a critter for the first time; planning our next trip whilst we say our goodbyes.

I wish we could have ticked more off your bucket list, but take great comfort in knowing we gave it our best shot.

You will always be with me in my heart above and beneath the ocean.🐬

Your loving daughter,
Amanda ❤️

Diane was a great dive instructor, friend and mentor who has helped me out on numerous occasions and even took me on my first dive trip abroad to the Red Sea.

I am glad that I've got to know her and will always remember her

Nelson, my deepest and heartfelt condolences for you, and the beautiful family you shared with Diane. Your fondest love for each other was obvious, a rarity and a treasure beyond earthly measure.
Diane had a smile that lit up a room, it’s not hard to fathom how she set your heart ablaze.
Keep that fire burning in her memory, tend to it in all the days to come, may it be a light for you for all eternity.

Thinking of you all as you celebrate the wonderful life of Diane. I hold the memories dear of your visit to Australia for Jamie and Amanda’s wedding. We got to meet Diane and Nelson and celebrate their beautiful daughter on her wedding day. Diane was a stunning mother of the bride and I could see who proud she was that day. We have all enjoyed reading of her many accomplishments during her life, which is definitely a lot! She had a sparkle for life that seemed contagious and a modesty that makes me feel humbled. I feel so lucky to have had a small glimpse of Diane’s life, let alone a lifetime that her family has had. As we grieve from afar, I can only imagine how much you are grieving close by. Our thoughts and prays are with you Nelson, Amanda and family as you celebrate and honour the one you love. We feel blessed to have you in our family and want you to know we are by you side as time moves on. Our lives are better for having Diane in it and her memory will continue to have life in the future. With all our love, Naomi, Buzz and the boys xxxx
