In loving memory of Raymond Douglas Parks who sadly passed away on 2nd January 2024 after a 2nd long and painful battle with cancer. Raymond was looked after and lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff of Fair Havens Hospice for 10 days until his passing.

As we are sure most of you will know, Raymond was very fond of a joke or windup that we probably all have happy memories of to treasure. These will keep his memory alive, and no doubt make us smile and laugh during this difficult time. With this in mind we will never forget his time at Fair Havens Hospice where in his last few days despite being unable to speak and in a very frail state, he still had time to joke with the nurses and carers, even making them dance with him whilst trying to return him to bed!

We will be forever grateful to those who cared for Raymond in his last days making his passing more comfortable with his family by his side.

To help Fair Havens continue their remarkable work for others in the future we would much appreciate it if you would generously make a donation in Raymond's name via the link on this page. Thank you.

When I was first promoted to Telex Ray was my Senior Manager he helped me to adjust to a managerial role and yes he could have a dry sense of humour. It was a pleasure to have known him.
RIP Ray

I worked for Ray in Product Development in Telex in 1990s.First time I met him he was doing a crossword in his office. The difficult one.
He was a Excellent Boss ,astute, clever. If I had one word to describe to him it would be Integrity. My group was in a political charged area in BT so he needed that quality.
He laid the foundations for the success of SecureStream 300 and Telex Refile.( Earned millions for BT).
Rest in Peace Ray.

Ed

I worked in Ray's team for a number of years before he retired, also way back in the 70's I worked in Ray's team doing Factory Acceptance Testing at Plessey's factory in Poole. There were at least 6 guys on this project and we all stayed at a hotel in Bournemouth called the Durley Dean. This hotel was something out of the 20's but the food was superb. The evening meal was very much "dress for Dinner" not black tie but smart ! Ray being Ray choose not to conform, the rest of us did and enjoyed the food. One evening early on, Ray had been for a walk in his trusty Parka, and on his return decided to join his team in the restaurant, before he made our table, he was intercepted by the restaurant manager and frogmarched out of the restaurant, much to the amusement of his team. I can still visualise the indignation on his face. For once Ray was on the receiving end, good times, not many like Ray, R.I.P
