In loving memory of Cliff Norman, who sadly passed away on 2nd January 2024.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Cliff would have been graced with a man full of kindness, laughter and love. He touched the hearts of everyone he met and will be missed dearly by all his friends and family.
Cliff taught us all to show kindness, compassion and respect to those around us, to keep smiling and to never give up on anything or anyone.
His beautiful spirit, love of life, and music will live on through every one of us who loved him.
Cliff's motto in life was to keep it simple and to take it easy, or siga siga, as he would say in Cyprus.
Cliff showed such dignity and gratitude and was at peace throughout his illness.
We know he would want all his loved ones to be at peace with his passing and keep smiling as he did.
Rest in peace, our beautiful man. It is now time to sing with the Angels and be in the arms of the loved ones around you.

As we all say goodbye to our dear friend Cliff tomorrow, we will look back at all the memories we shared with him and of course our lovely Jackie. When Malcom died and then Jackie...Mum and Cliff became very close companions. They both lost their loved ones and therefore had a very strong bond together looking back and also being very close companions too with like minded love of music and of course bingo! Our house was his house, He was an amazing man...genial fun loving and very calm. Everyone Loved Cliff. We loved Cliff, he tou hed our heart and he leaves a big gap in all our lives. Rest in Peace our Lovely Cliff.

Why do all the best ones go first?

Some people move in and out of your life for what seems like a brief a moment, others stay for a good period of time and then there are some, but very few, who are there throughout, a rock, helping you build the foundations of your own life and shaping so many other lives they touch for the better.

Cliff, you were always there, with a smile, with a laugh but most of all with time. Time to help, listen, advise and in our case (Lisa, Lotte and me) all of the above, the “4th emergency service” as I used to call you.

You had time to come out to Singapore with Jackie, time for trips to Thailand, Bali with us, you made those holidays so special, and the many skiing trips to Zermatt, none of those places will seem the same again. I remember one of the first a skiing trips to Chamonix with Darren; seeing you flying down the slope, sort of in control, thinking it would be a good idea to take a little jump off the side of the piste whilst going at a fair speed but not realising it was a good 4ft drop on the other side. I can still picture your frozen snow-covered moustache and face, mouth open, flying through the air waiting for the impact…. thankfully with no injuries. You laughed, brushed yourself off and carried on; that was you Cliff, never give up, always had the energy for more and a twinkle in your eye.

I will miss you like crazy, and as we discussed, you need to get another bar stool ready for me when the time is right in the Reggae Bar on the beach in Phuket. I’ll join you and Jackie and we can have a few cold ones whilst watching Lisa and Lotte wash an elephant in the sea again…. Fantastic days, fantastic memories never to be forgotten.

I think I’ve written too much, its only meant to be a few lines, you used to complain my sms’s we were too long but I guess it’s good to be consistent 😊

Keep playing the guitar and singing up there and keep the beers cold please.
Love You

Mike
