John joined us on the first Honky Tonkin New Orleans Jazzz Fest trip in the late 70s. Loved his music. Was lucky to catch up with him on a visit back to London in summer of 2023 and spent a lovely summer afternoon with Joh, Maureen and Adele at one of John's favourite places Lambeth Palace. Rest in peace John. I am glad to have known you.

Happy memories of our many outings to music, places of interest, in particular Lambeth Palace, various pie'n'mash shops all over London, jolly Monday afternoons at the Manor Arms, Poplar, devilishly difficult quizzes of John's own devising, his deep & abiding passion for the city of New Orleans & its music. Rest in peace, John. Miss you so much.

We missed John at Christmas dinner this year, although we still set a place for him and raised a glass in his memory.
We will always remember John for his love of quizzes and how we all wanted him on our team when we played trivial pursuit. He seemed to love coming round at Christmas and was always the last to leave. Rest in peace John ❤️
