In loving memory of Paul David Harris who sadly passed away on 8th December 2023.

Paul influenced and touched everyone he met. From mentoring across the arts to challenging politics to entertaining thousands on BBC Radio each week and making us all smile, he did everything in his own special way.

Over many decades Paul’s passion and drive to perform, entertain and help others garnered a wide and loyal fan base. ‘Oh yes it did’, ‘Titter not’ and ‘Carry on’ remind us of the twinkle in his eye.

Paul will of course be holding court on his day of remembrance as follows:

Oh, Paul, I only found out today that you had passed on. How sad it has made me feel in contrast to your wonderful "Big Laughter Show"s that you did in Margate. I remember how elated I felt leaving the theatre like nothing else I had experienced before. It was sad when you stopped doing them.

That wasn't the first time we met, though, as you were the Patron of the Alpha Theatre Company in Chatham. I am so grateful to you for casting me as King Rat in Dick Whittington in 1989. It changed my outlook towards panto.

I was wondering what you had been doing with yourself recently and had hoped to find you to autograph your book. I wasn't to be. Rest in peace, Paul. I shall light a candle for you.

  • Ray, we are sorry you were unable to attend. Paul was given a great day, with many friends and family attending and even the sun came out. He will be sadly missed by all. Thank you Mark and Devika.

Paul, Upon relocating to Sheppey in 2006 I immediately fell in love with your Sunday radio show. I never imagined I’d also have the privilege of working alongside you and later become your friend. I shall miss our coffee & gossips, days out, and your cheeky humour. Rest in peace friend X
