I’m so sorry to hear the news of your lovely Mum 💕 She had the warmest smile and personality, and always made me feel so welcome. I have fond memories of coming to yours after school for dinner, where she’d often be playing along with Countdown…I tried to join in and failed dismally, but she was such a smart cookie. I was in awe! Thinking of you 🩷 xx

Funeral Director
In loving memory of Susan Ann Peatfield, 70, who passed away on 23rd November 2023.
After a defiant battle with lung cancer, she went peacefully in her sleep at home after goodnight kisses from her two children.
Sue was born on 28th February, 1953, to Gladys and Arthur Moseley in Battersea. As the daughter of a military man and WW2 veteran, she spent her childhood days moving around from London to Germany and even the tropical climes of Trinidad.
After school, she landed her first job at The Post Office, beginning her adult life as an independent woman and settling in the Medway Towns where she would go on to live for the rest of her life.
When her first child, Toby, was born, she dedicated her life to being a stay-at-home Mum and later welcomed a new baby, Helen into her life. Sue was a fiercely devoted mother, both generous and loving to Toby & Helen.
Later, once her kids were fully grown, Sue went to work as a domestic and receptionist in residential dementia care homes where her empathy, sense of humour, and unique charm were put to good use.
Sue was a passionate gardener and when she wasn’t lending an ear, cracking a joke or binge-watching the Wimbledon Tournament, she could be found in her garden, taking pride in her little sanctuary among the flowers and garden's winged and colourful wild visitors.
In the winter months, she’d hibernate in her comfiest chair, playing games with a network of online friends going back some twenty years. Or, indulging in her favourite soaps and testing her brain with puzzle books and quiz shows. Usually accompanied by a purring companion on her lap.
Despite having her own struggles, Sue always made time to support and encourage her loved ones through their trials and tribulations.
She touched many more lives than she ever realised. She'll be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two children, two grandchildren, sister, nieces and nephews. Some were old enough to have built up a bank of happy memories, and all are old enough to have felt the warmth of her embrace.
There will be a private funeral. Invitations have been given by word of mouth via family and friends. If you've been invited, you can find the details of the service above.
Following the service, attendees are welcome to join us for light refreshments from 11;30 am onwards at The Wagon at Hale, 179 Capstone Road Hale, Chatham ME5 7PP.
NOTE: By 'light refreshments' think bottomless tea and coffee, finger food, biscuits and cakes - just as Sue would have enjoyed if she would attend any kind of social gathering.
Immediate family flowers only, please. If desired, donations in memory of Sue for 'Macmillan Cancer Support' or the 'PDSA' would be gratefully received, and may be made online via this page.
Thank you.
