In loving memory of John Nash who sadly passed away on 22nd November 2023.
John was born in Luton on 22 March 1936 and was an only child. His parents were originally from South Wales and John spent much of his childhood there, particularly throughout the war years. He attended Aberdeen university and achieved a Master of Arts in English. John spent his working life in the construction industry mainly working for European companies. He became Managing Director of a national company, the pinnacle of which was negotiating a multi million pound deal with a Japanese partner. He retired in 2001 and he and his wife Kathryn spent their time travelling and enjoying quality time together. They were married for 24 years. He was a very keen amateur photographer, gardener - specialising in fuschias -, and they spent many weekends walking Derbyshire. He was a father to Karen and Amanda, from a previous marriage, and was also a grandfather. His funeral will take place at Rushcliffe Oaks Crematorium on Tuesday 12 December at noon.

John it's with great regret that we never met.From all that I have heard you were a wonderful caring person. You cared and looked out for my baby cousin. I would like to say thank you. John and I worked together at three separate companies through the 80’s and 90’s – we had many discussions about the latest innovations in the construction equipment industry and always enjoyed bouncing ideas off each other, preferably over a pint of beer.
When my career took my wife and I to the United States, John and Kath were our very first English visitors; they also became regular guests whenever we returned to England for family get togethers.
I will remember John the most for his infectious laugh, his sense of humour and for being a valued mentor to me throughout my life.

So sad to lose such a lovely man. I had the fortune to be a neighbour and friend. He had a sharp wit, was a pleasure to share a cuppa with and adored his Kathryn. A true gentleman who will be much missed. May you rest in peace John.
