We have created this page in loving memory of Sheila ... beloved daughter of Ken, treasured mum of Leanne and Sharon and devoted 'Nanny Lotta' to Daisy, Olivia, Ellen and Hannah.

Over this past six months Sheila faced her illness and the challenges it brought with such courage and dignity, always thinking first of how it affected those around her. Even on the saddest days, she would find something to say or do that would keep us smiling. The hole that remains now that she has left us is huge but perhaps we can fill it with all the happy memories and thoughts that we and all of you as her family and friends have too. So please leave a message on this page if you would like to....

We hope to celebrate those things that made her so special next Thursday.. her love of her tribe of girls.. her garden .. and Cliff of course! If you would have spent a little on flowers please take a look at the Justgiving page. The team at Sue Ryder helped us to keep her at her 'unofficial' home for as long as possible before she needed their expertise in Nettlebed Hospice. The in house team looked after us all with such gentle compassion -it is absolutely right that we try and support them to continue to look after families just like ours.

With this in mind, Team Roberts and Team Brookes will be walking the Twilight Trail on the Saturday evening after her funeral to raise funds for Sue Ryder in Mum's memory. Leanne and Sharon will go on to do the 10k Starlight Hike once Dan and Mark have been despatched to buy well earned hot chocolates for Daisy, Olivia, Ellen and Hannah! Please leave us a few words of encouragement if you want to!

Thank you for your care and support to Sheila and to us over recent times - all the visits, phone calls, cards and texts were lovely and meant such a lot. Mum was in no doubt how much we all loved her.

Auntie Sheila was a remarkable lady in many ways. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say.
We have many happy memories that we will treasure and keep with us. We feel privileged to have known her and been part of her life for so many years.
God bless Auntie Shelia.
All our love always

So very sorry to hear of Sheila's passing. Sheila was my manager when working in HR at Warwickshire County Council. She was always very kind and understanding. Sheila was also a dear friend and we had many fun times. Sheila, Pauline and I would head off on the train to many Cliff concerts in various venues and always had lots of fun and laughter. We even made the Leamington Courier with our photo at the Warwick concert. These are just some of my memories of Sheila. She was a lovely person and I will miss her always. Rest in peace.

  • Happy times... that particular photo has been seen beyond the readership of the Courier! The doctors and nurses at Nettlebed were in no doubt of Mum's love for Cliff.. or for the friends she had who shared this passion.. as her photo took pride of place on her bedside cabinet and was a big talking point these past few weeks!!

Words I write cannot describe the sadness of a very Dear and Special Sister in law, Sheila. We have shared many family occasions and every time it is as though we all just pick up from the previous gathering with laughter and sharing life.
The time we shared in South Africa was magical and there was precious moments I will never forget, we visited a very beautiful beach and I remember we both sat on the sand closed our eyes and had to pinch ourselves " was this really happening and it was quite serial " with the ocean in front of us, happy times xxx and that's only one memory that will stay with me with a smile on my face no matter where we both are.

God Bless sleep tight Shelia X

  • Her garden was her pride and joy - hours spent keeping it beautiful, only pausing for a quick chat over the fence to catch up on news, which she also loved doing... xxx

It goes without saying that Aunty Sheila was a wonderful lady and meant the world to us all and I will miss her :(

She was a wonderful lady and had a wicked sense of humor and also you knew when she was cross with you!!!..... and remember being on the other side of some stern glares from time to time as youngsters when we were naughty!!! ..... remember her face on 2 occasions when Scottie accidently used Sharon's lip as a golf ball in the back garden in Warwick and when (and cant remember which one of the girls) fell into the fishpond at Glebe Gardens with all the family and nanna jumping to the rescue!!!!!!

Im sooooo gutted that I cant be with the family this week but I will be think of you all

II will miss you Aunty Sheila x x x x x x

all my love
Matt

I was so very sorry to hear that Sheila had passed away, she was my manager when I worked in HR at Warwickshire County Council. She managed our very busy office and was always firm but fair and very supportive of her staff. We worked hard but had many laughs too, especially when we went to see the various productions at The Spa Centre. In the office Sheila never needed to say anything if we were talking too much or making too much noise as she would just peer over the top of her glasses and we knew we had to be quiet! I saw her not long ago and she took great delight in telling me about her grand children, especially one of them who had turned the taps on at her nursery and caused a flood! She always had a tale to tell. She described how her dog had leapt over the garden hedge and run off across Ted Edgar's fields and she went chasing after him in her dressing gown and nightdress! She said she wondered if any neighbours saw her and what they must have thought she was doing. She decided to stop chasing and stood very still with her back to the dog and sure enough she could see him out the corner of her eye coming slowly back towards her. As soon as he was along side her she grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, she had got him. We had a good laugh. Happy memories Sheila, may you rest in peace .
