In loving memory of Ian John Mackenzie who sadly passed away on 25th November 2023

Ian or Mac as he was known by many sadly left us after a short and sudden illness. We have set up this page to pass on information about funeral arrangements and for anyone to leave messages in memory of June’s loving husband, Claire and Vicky’s darling and doting dad and Jane’ and Anne’s dedicated brother.

Ian’s funeral will be held at Randall’s Park Crematorium, Randalls Rd, Leatherhead KT22 0AG on Thursday 21st December at 1:15pm.

We will then be gathering at Banstead Athletic Football club from 2:30pm (address: Merland Rise, Epsom, Tadworth KT20 5JG).

All are welcome at the service and gathering if you wish to pay your respects to Ian. We ask that instead of flowers, a donation is made in Ian’s honour to either the RNLI or Air Ambulance as these were charities that meant a lot to Ian.

Mac was one of the first people I met when joining L&G back in the 70’s and remained a great friend through 50+ years. So many laughs and memorable times, I will miss the shared football banter. Thanks for the memories old friend.

I played football for Temple Bar with Ian in the 80s and 90s. After that I regularly saw him at circuit training at Kingswood. A really likeable person who has been taken from us too soon. Fortunately I bumped into him early this year and we reminisced about TBFC and “dirty” Leeds. One of life’s nice guys. RIP Ian.
