In loving memory of James (Jim) Ibbotson who sadly passed away on 15th November 2023.

Jim was an accomplished general engineer, teacher, landrover, house & boat builder and an all round top notch chap.

Jim will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 52 years, Joan, his doting children Claire, Christopher and Catherine and his beloved grandchildren.

Jim’s passing will leave a significant hole in many hearts, for so many reason as he impacted so many lives due to the character that he was.

We’ve asked for family flowers only, inviting friends to contribute via the link to the Big C in Jim’s memory following his short battle with cancer.

Rest in peace Jim, our dear Husband, Dad, Grandad and Friend - you will never know how much you were loved, admired and adored.

Jim had been our neighbour since I was a little girl almost 54 years ago, he has always been around keeping an eye out when we have been away and was always there to help if ever needed, on one occasion when my older sister was getting married in Lingwood Church in January 87 when the village had been snowed in for a few day, Jim help my Dad and brothers clear the road so the wedding car could get through to take my sister to the Church. He will be sadly missed by us all.

Happy memories of a lovely man devoted to his family who loved his shooting &landrovers.
Don’t think of him as gone away his journeys just begun,
Life holds so many facets this earth is only one
Just think of him as resting from the sorrow and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away and think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much
