I love you ❤️so much Mum and miss you more than you will ever know. 3.45pm will never be the same again without either seeing your smile or speaking to you on the mobile. You were the best Mum ever! RIP.
Sheila Hyslop (15 Feb 1941 - 14 Nov 2023)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Sheila Hyslop (nee Swales), 82, of Mansfield, who sadly passed away on the 14th November, 2023, after a short illness at Kings Mill Hospital. The beloved wife, mum, granny and great granny is survived by her son, Andy, daughter in law Debbie, grandson Craig, his wife Emma and her great-grandsons, Oliver, and Toby.
Sheila was born at Mansfield on the 15th February, 1941. She started her education at Moor Lane School before moving onto the Mansfield County Technical school where she developed a passion for swimming, eventually becoming a member of the County swimming team.
After completing her education, Sheila went on to work within her father’s green grocery business. During this time she met her spouse, Murray and they married in 1963. Together they had a son Andy who was born in 1964. Following the retirement of her father, Sheila worked delivering car parts before moving onto become a post office clerk, where she worked until her retirement.
Sheila qualified as an ASA Swimming Teacher although never pursued it as a career. She enjoyed watching quiz shows on TV and reading historic novels on her kindle. Her real passion in life, however, was her family who she loved dearly and would do anything for.
Latterly Sheila resided in assisted living at the Mansfield Retirement Village before losing her mobility in July 2023 and moving into the Willow Tree Care Home.
The service will be held at the onsite Chapel of A.W.Lymn, Mansfield Woodhouse, at 11.15am Tuesday 12th December, 2023 followed by burial at the Mansfield Woodhouse Cemetery at 12 midday. All are welcome to attend. Any charitable donations should be made to The Mike Cassidy Renal Unit.
