The day I met you Rhonda, I thought you were quite "cool"-

A smart & sassy lady who was nobody's fool.

We had a lot in common, that was plain to see

& soon became the best of friends, for all eternity.

We shared much joy & laughter & some dancing too,

& now & then a little tear, but they were only few

For we sang away the blues & got the paintbrush out

& you produced some lovely work, of that there is no doubt.

So now the memories held fast could really not be fonder,

Thank you, I will not forget my dearest, dearest Rhonda.

With love always, Diane xxx

Mum was a character, far more resilient than she let on, her passions were her dogs, her friends and her cigs. She found her true vocation as a primary school teacher and was able to deeply connect with the children, leaving many with very fond memories of that time. I remember the pressure she put herself under to make her school plays, (more like a west end show), Dave and I spent many years dressed up in costumes she had made, reciting lines and acting out roles as a dress rehearsal for the end of year school performance . She was an incredibly talented artist and although as a perfectionist she didn't always like what she created my homework that she illustrated often got rave reviews :). We of course will miss her but we have our memories and a lifetime of reflection xx

We go back a long way Rhonda- I met you as a newly qualified teacher at St Benedict’s Primary School- you looked out for me and ensured I got home safely. Your warmth and kindness towards the children and the relationships you built with them was magical. The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark was a favourite of yours I seem to remember. Our paths crossed again at Hilltop- you always made us laugh and the children laugh. We became friends, shared a love of all things canine and shared the odd cigarette in your conservatory. You leave us with very fond memories of adventures and challenges shared.
